We should have been celebrating Casey and Lucy in May but a rescheduled wedding meant pivoting to this perfect opportunity for this backyard elopement/Fontana micro wedding! The last time we saw these two was for their super fun Vasquez Rocks engagement session where we frolicked through the desert.
It’s been quite a journey for this micro wedding. The date for their May wedding came closer and it was clear that they were going to have to reschedule. We toyed with the idea of them eloping on their original date but getting a marriage license proved tricky at the time. Later Lucy saw a post that I was thinking about getting ordained to photograph elopements (check out my blog post about eloping and micro weddings). One email from her asking if I was still planning getting ordained sent me straight to google to finish the shockingly easy process. Once we got that out of the way, we finally got the plans started on this long awaited elopement!
Casey and Lucy gathered with their immediate families at her childhood home in Fontana. The ceremony site was beside a coy pond that Lucy’s dad built himself! The backyard was decorated in bright, celebratory colors and you couldn’t help but feel the joy and love.
They self-led their emotional vows, exchanged rings, and I declared them husband and wife! Their adorable dog Obi (you got that right Obi Wan to be exact) was very much a part of their backyard elopement and sat beside his parents the entire time! Casey and Lucy’s parents had a literal feast prepared so we got some quick family photos.
And as I believe every elopement should end (and especially this beautiful micro wedding), they popped tiny bottles of champaign and had a toast!
Stay tuned for their big wedding at The Retreat!
