You’re trusting me to document all the emotions and passion and fun, and I take this role seriously (even when I’m waist deep in a lake talking you into some ridiculous photo). Investing in our connection helps me make you feel comfortable. When you’re not stressed about weird posing or staged images, you’ll be able to simply live in the moment.
You want to know the absolute best thing I hear? That my couples have fun, that they see their true selves and relationship in an image, and that they get to relive the emotions of their day through their photos. That means so much not only because I take such deep pride in my work, but because you become part of my heart.
Your wedding photos should bring you back to that exact second.
They should captivate you. They should take your breath away. I want you to feel safe enough to be your incredible selves. I never pressure you to fit into anyone else’s expectations.
Embrace your wedding as a day to be unapologetically you.
Vibrant & authentic … wild & free.
Fully in the moment.
You two are amazing. Your wedding photos are going to be amazing too.

This really speaks to how YOU want to interact with and be portrayed by your photographer. Now myself, I don't believe in forcing picture perfect Pinterest poses (say that ten times fast). Sure, I help your day run smoothly and look pretty, BUT I am not going to ask you to pretend to be dancing with glasses of champagne when I walk into a room (videographer true story).
I believe if a photographer is constantly adjusting you to look the way they want you to, then they're pulling you out of a moment that is meant to be FELT and lived in. I want you to laugh until you cry over something so hilarious like your groomsmen splitting his pants. I want you to dance your heart out all night. I want you to embrace your shiny new spouse as tears fall down your face and you laugh with joy because you are just so overwhelmed by it all. All of these are true stories.
My approach is to both help the day stay on track, to jump into the midst of it while cracking jokes to make you laugh, to remind you to be present, but also be on the fringes where the quiet, overlooked moments happen.
And I want you to have the space and freedom to be in that moment...because if you think about it, you spend almost as much time with me as you do each other on your wedding day. So my dear, sweet new friends, be present. Enjoy every single fleeting moment of the day you marry the love of your life. Don't fake it or force it. Soak it all in.
All that to say, I guess my approach is that you only get to live this wild, beautiful, precious day once and I want to help you wring all the life out of it that you possibly can.
My editing style is true to life exposure and vibrant colors. Nature and people are alive with colors and I believe your photos should be too. Lighting will vary but I love everything from radiant golden hour to moody, rainy weather, and I can't wait to break out flash for dancing the night away. As a wedding photographer you have to be knowledgable and prepared for any and all lighting situations and communicate to help manage expectations as well.
And for extensive editing... similar to my approach, I'll clean up an image but I won't drastically alter who you are or how you look. Bruises and blemishes and softening skin are one thing but making you look like a young Brad and Angelina would make us all sad. You are so loved and beautiful. I haven't even met you yet and already I think you're pretty incredible.
Now let's talk about fine art products.
Your photos aren't meant to live on your phone and this is a hill I will die on. I love a good wallpaper photo are much as anyone...but NOTHING beats a tangible memory in your hands. Through your gallery you have access to professional prints, canvases, and fine art albums. Print them, put them all over your walls, gift them, and sit back with a glass of wine on your anniversary as you flip through your stunning wedding album and live it all over again.
get in touch
Three days after your wedding, I’ll swoop in like your redheaded fairy godmother with some edited sneak peeks. Within eight to ten weeks, your full wedding gallery will be delivered.
I warned you about those exclamation marks. Today’s the day! With a balanced approach of being hands on, guiding you as needed...but fiercely protective of letting the moments unfold organically so you'll be free to live in that memory. I’ll be your shadow, your friend, you champion, your stalker, your cheerleader. You'll see. You focus on being present and how it feels... because I'll be focusing on photographing just that.
(Insert ominous music here)
Ooh. Scary. Or...not. Look, I know planning a wedding—no matter the guest list—can be daunting. But that’s why I’m always an email or phone call away. I’ll talk you off the ledge and maybe suggest a bottle of wine. I’ll also always be ready with resources, tips and recommendations.
Alright. Let's talk those awkward, static, staged poses you've seen a million times on a million websites. They all blend together don't they? We're not doing that. Let's get some genuine belly laughs, motion, and emotion. You've got the most amazing personalities and we want those to show those off. It's going to get weird. Embrace it. We just go on an adventure and get to know each other. You get pretty pictures out of it three weeks later.
First, you’ll tell me all about your plans and I’ll definitely abuse exclamation points. Then, we’ll work together to build your collections. A $750 retainer, signed contract, and a bunch more exclamation points makes us official.
Or...at least intrigued. I’m totally fine with either. Maybe you’ve combed through the site, checked out some other gorgeous couples, or read reviews. I am ridiculously excited to meet you! But it all starts with getting in touch.
"There’s not enough words in the dictionary to describe how absolutely incredible she has been on our crazy ride. From our first conversations, we knew there was no one else we wanted. Kristen has a gift for making people feel safe, sound, and secure. Every picture is breathtaking and every detail is perfection. We’ve spent countless hours scouring through the hundreds of beautiful photos Kristen took of our wedding and we’re instantly transported back in time to relive our special day over and over again. What truly makes her the greatest is not just her photography but also how welcoming and personal she is. Kristen has the innate ability to make every person she comes across feel like her best friend and all our guests came to us after the wedding to talk about how great she was not just as a photographer but also as a person."
"Kristen is not only an amazing photographer, but she's a phenomenal person too. Kristen's photos first caught my eye because they are vibrant, bold, bright, and beautiful. As I dived into her portfolio, it's her ability to capture the tiniest most significant moments of emotion that made me decide she's the one. Her photos make you feel like you're right there in those moments, feeling the laughter, joy, and tears of the people she captures. She's funny, spunky, patient, and most importantly she makes sure you know she's there to make your day the best day whether it's an engagement shoot or your wedding day. At one point I was laughing so hard my face hurt and the photos turned out amazing. I can’t recommend her enough!"
"We are a mixed-race couple and while my husband was focused on finding a photographer that could photograph different skin tones well, I was focused on finding someone I could laugh with and be comfortable around. Kristen was our answer! She really knows how to work with different skin tones so both are complimented and look amazing. She also asks questions about what we want captured, sentimental things, and details that are important to us. We laughed and had so much fun and our wedding was marvelous and fun! She is also just a wonderful and joyful personality! We absolutely made the BEST choice when we chose her to be our photographer, and we recommend her a million times over!"

Engagement sessions are the PERFECT way to get to know your photographer (well hello there). That way when I show up cracking jokes and swinging camera gear around on your wedding day, we're already good friends. Let's go on an adventure and have a blast.
Anniversary sessions. I think you get the idea.
And what is an after wedding session you ask? Well, if you want more wedding photos outside the constraints of your wedding day timeline...what's better than getting all dressed up in your wedding attire and adventuring?
Starting at $750
You're eloping by yourselves or with a few friends but still want to invest in a photographer that gets you and will treat your day with the same energy as a big, fancy wedding?
Well, good news.
My husband and I had a little ten person wedding in the middle of the forest as the sun set.
I'm also ordained. You can either get a friend to get ordained to officiate your wedding or you can self-lead your ceremony and I'll photograph it and make it legal. You just need a witness (but I do have a pretty cute husband who's been volunteered as a witness a few times).
Starting at $2,500
Pick your collection and add ons from the pricing guide. A non-refundable retainer of $750 and a signed contract and many more exclamation marks makes you official. You'll be able to sign your contract and pay your retainer with a bank transfer or credit card all online. Pick what is best for you to keep the booking process super quick and easy!
The remaining balance is split between two payments which are due 90 days and 30 days before your big day.
Engagement sessions can last 1-2 hours.
Engagement session time isn't taken out of your wedding day coverage.
It's really just an excuse for us to hang out and you get pretty pictures out of the deal. There are no limits to wardrobe changes (but if you bring ten of them we might need to have an intervention). We just adventure, get to know each other, and have fun. For all couples that decide on an engagement session, you receive an engagement session guide to help you prepare!
If you order product separately or have it included in your customized collection, sales tax will apply.
If you have an album credit included, all changes to the original design will need to be submitted within thirty days
Albums are where most of my couples spend extra so go in with that in mind. It can either be a highlight reel or tell the full story of your day.
This is an excellent question! During a wedding the majority of the camera bodies will be using dual card slots. That means that there are two sets of cards with your photos just in case one fails. All memory card are kept on my person to prevent theft until I arrive safely home. After a wedding all memory cards are immediately imported to two external hard drives. The first external hard drive goes into a fire proof safe and the second is used to edit from. Then both sets of your memory cards are organized and set to the side as a third backup to be formatted only once your wedding gallery is delivered. The backup of your wedding is kept for six months.
Your gallery is online for ninety days. You will need to download your photos before that time. I recommend you backing them up to two locations just in case AND order prints, canvases, and albums. You can also opt to pay to keep your gallery online. Technology can be a jerk and it's always a good idea to be extra cautious.
Sure do. I have a business license. I have insurance. I pay taxes. So many taxes. I don't mess around.
Sure can! I have TONS of resources to help you in your wedding planning journey. One of them is a timeline builder where we work together to build a timeline that fits your wedding perfectly. I also have lots of tips to help you get the best out of your timeline and when the best times for photos will be etc.
I got you. Just focus on having fun and I'll take care of the rest! I HATE super posed or phony photos...you hate super posed photos (which is why you're here). It might get a little weird but we're going to embrace it and have ourselves a good time. What really matters most is marrying that super hot spouse of yours and being present and connected with the people you love.
Nope! I'll send you galleries or blog posts of similar venues as examples. If scheduling and travel allow, rehearsal coverage is also available to add on.
Anything within a driving distance of two hours is included because let's face it, California has traffic everywhere so you shouldn't be blamed for that. After that a flat fee of $500 will be added for 180 miles or more. If additional travel is needed for multiple days, a fee for a hotel room will be added on so your photographer (hi that's me) doesn't die trying to get home. If a wedding requires a flight then the cost is added on a case to case basis. Any wedding covering multiple days will require an additional fee.
I like a payment plan just as much as the next person so I try and make this as easy as possible! A non-refundable retainer of $750 and a signed contract secure your wedding date. The remaining balance of your collection is equally divided into two invoices, the first due 90 days before your wedding and the final due 30 days before your wedding day. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
As per industry standard no raw files will be provided. Your gallery is carefully curated and fully edited to tell the complete story of your day.
All galleries come with a print release. As is the law, copyright remains with the photographer.
Fancy professional Canon camera bodies and prime lenses that each cost more than my first car (I cry a little inside if I think about it). Backup camera bodies, lenses, flashes, batteries, and memory cards are brought to every wedding as an added precaution. For film photography I have a variety of 35mm cameras. A medium format film camera will be in my future soon.
Your gallery will have ALL culled and edited photos. Expect roughly 50-75 images per hour of coverage.
