One Of The Most Magical Weddings…
There are no words I could ever string together that would be able to fully describe the magic and emotions of this Wilcox Manor Tustin wedding. Nothing I could ever say could begin to do this day justice.
First of all, I fell in love with J&H when they flew in from New York for their sunrise engagement session. Now I get deeply emotionally attached to all of my couples like the overly invested, obsessive photographer I am…but I will admit that there are some that just own part of my heart for the rest of all time. J&H fall into that category. They are artistic, intellectual, joyful, and playful. The love they have for each other and others is deep and palpable.

Dancing In The (Wedding Day) Rain
Before we get too deep into it, I have to tell you about this wedding ceremony and why I say it was magic. The eclectic venue was filled with beautiful eclectic guests. As soon as J appeared there were cheers and tears. When H walked up the aisle it only intensified.
And then…just as the ceremony started…the skies opened up.
Instead of bemoaning the loss of their “perfect” wedding day, J&H leaned into the magic with everything they had. I think when the supposed worst case scenario happens it strips down the day to what matters most. They were so fully present and alive and joyful. I wish I could bottle some of that up and give it to every single one of my couples.
Their guests ate dinner in the rain and danced barefoot as it poured. There was a slightly damp but sweet clown flash mob. When two artistic performers get married surrounded by their like-minded friends and family it was bound to be a production.

And now back to these two and why they are so special.
H deeply admires J’s unwavering positivity, grit, kindness, patience and playfulness. J’s heart is so deep and intuitive and becomes friends with literally everyone he meets. H told me that J’s dreams inspire their dreams and that holding his hand is the best feeling.
J loves H’s trickster spirit and the standards they hold for themselves and for those around them. He loves that she can mourn for people she’s never met and will cry for things she can never change. J loves the way H challenges him to be brighter because “she’s so damn full of light.”
At the end of the night H sobbed when I said goodbye and brought me to tears too as I hugged them. My second photographer got in the car after this Wilcox Manor Tustin wedding to begin the long and rainy drive home and she told me that my couples were special. I couldn’t agree more.
