What a joyful experience this summer Lake Arrowhead engagement was! At the time of this engagement session, I was going on a decade of being in business and twelve years photographing weddings. You’d think that all of this would have lost its shine but if anything I’ve only fallen deeper in love with what I do and the couples I get to pour into. I feel so deeply connected to my couples that it feels so bittersweet when I leave their wedding. That being said, a few times a year there are a handful of couples I adore just a tiny bit extra and E and K are one of those couples.
For their summer Lake Arrowhead engagement I know just the secret spot to take E and K. They were getting married at Miller’s Landing in the fall and a mountain setting was the perfect solution. The pressure was on to redeem a less than satisfying photography experience for them! Immediately any concerns I might have had vanished. The three of us became instant friends and had the best time!
Our little journey began when they decided to break up with their original photographer. Every photographer runs their business their own way and has their own style. Neither is right or wrong, but finding the photographer that suits who you are is so incredibly personal and important. A google deep dive lead these two to me and it was an immediate connection. They were looking for a vibrancy in their photographer, not only in terms of editing style but also in a way that showcases the personalities of the couple. Now art is also subjective so there is no right or wrong there either…but I have intentionally built my business around a connection with couples. To be the art is the connection. Getting to know them, photographing who they are individually and together, showing up to both celebrate and champion them are all key pillars of what I strive for. It’s not for every couple and I’m okay with that. These two took one look at my website and were all in.
If you liked this summer engagement in Lake Arrowhead, you’ll love this mountain engagement!
