A New Take On Tradition
C & K wanted to make aspects of their wedding reflect who they were as a couple. This is what I advocate most for my couples! It’s your wedding and you get to make it reflect who you are.
Their new take on the first look involved getting ready in the same room without seeing each other. When they were done getting ready they put on their dresses at the same time facing away from each other and when they were ready they turned around to see each other for the first time. C was practically buzzing with energy when she finally got to turn around and see K. A funny revelation was that they had unknowingly picked lace dresses with illusion necklines…and since they were also wearing matching lace sneakers it was perfect.
Since C & K were already wearing their rings, during their ceremony they exchanged necklaces with each other’s initials. How cute is that?!?!

C & K met while they were both deployed in the military. C saw K and true to her exuberant nature made the first move by sitting beside K, slapping her on the thigh, and asked her about all her cool tattoos.
When C & K found me, they told me that they had opted out of a photographer that felt too dated and posed. They loved photography that had more movement and personality and wanted photos that you could feel their love through. We set off on a hiking adventure for their engagement session and let me tell you that it’s still one of my favorites to date. They’re so giddy in love and fun to be around. K told me that it took some time to adjust to how loudly C loved people but was now so happy to be one of those she loves. They both have adventurous and fun personalities and were all for every field and trail I suggested despite a bobcat sighting. The gloomy day held off the rain but gave us the most dramatic skies for their engagement photos which was contrasted by the glorious golden light that shined through their wedding day.
