A Hot Southern California Summer Weekend
The forecast predicted the hottest weekend of the year for D&A’s Edward-Dean Museum and Gardens summer wedding. With a few pivots, the summer heat didn’t put a damper on the festivities one bit.
Personally, as a photographer, the worry with unplanned weather is not a ruined “perfect” photo. The worry is always that the weather will derail the focus and become the main character of the wedding. There is no perfect day for photos and no wedding goes a hundred percent according to plan. With the right mindset and a plan, weather can become an added piece of the story. You can’t control the temperature, the rain, or the wind (and I’ve photographed weddings in all three extremes)…but you can decide it isn’t going to rob you of being fully present on your wedding day.
Check out this magical, rainy Tustin wedding or this insanely fun and windy Joshua Tree wedding!

D&A dated when they were both nineteen but as with many things when you’re nineteen…the timing was off. Six years later they found themselves back in each other’s lives. Once they reconnected all the pieces fell into place and they built a beautiful life and family together.
