Everything about this Long Beach winter engagement is pure magic. It’ll live rent free in my head for the rest of my life.
Meant To Be
Where do I even start?
K reached out to me for their Virginia Country Club wedding and said I was highly recommended by their venue. There was only one catch…I had never even heard of their venue. Now this isn’t the first time I’ve been added to a venue list just from google or social media but from what she said it sounded like they thought I had worked there before. During the consult call I gave them full disclosure about not knowing their venue but was already so in love with the two of them. K told me I was the highest reviewed, highest referred (even if that remained a mystery), and it was an instant connection. We chalked it up as meant to be and embraced the mystery.

A Golden, Magically Joyous Ocean Frolic In Long Beach
B & K were my first engagement of the year. I know I’m a sentimental sap, but the first engagement or wedding of the year tends to set the tone for the rest of the year. It always feels a bit rusty, like somehow I’ve forgotten all my camera settings and how to do this even after almost fifteen years of this. That feeling quickly melted away as the magic took over. The light. The joy. The laughter. It was truly the most perfect way to start off the year.
Now back to the mystery! A few months later I get a text. It turns out another bride of mine was the venue coordinator was the source of those glowing referrals. I had done her sister’s wedding years before and fell for her entire family. When the time came she had added me to her list of preferred photographers and when the time came she also booked me for her own wedding! It really was meant to be!
