There is a story behind this Joshua Tree winter wedding session let me tell you! The morning of Matt and Cheyenne’s Bonsall wedding at the Garden of Light Hall, I got a text from Cheyenne. The stomach flu had attacked Matt, his sister, and his niece (all of which were in the wedding party).   Matt powered through the best he could and was a trooper to say the least. It definitely changed the amount of photos and fun they could get out of their beautiful wedding day. We had him take a lot of breaks and let Matt sit down between family photos. Sadly, another wave of it hit him on the way to the reception venue and we missed the sunset. We all just felt so bad for Matt but he was in such good spirits for a groom who couldn’t keep anything down.

As I left, I told the two of them that we would schedule a session. I had a plan to where they could get all dressed up in their wedding attire. That way they get the wedding photos they always dreamed of. I just couldn’t imagine them not having anything to hang on their walls of their new home together. As we talked about it for the next few weeks, we came up with the idea for the Joshua Tree winter wedding session.

A little less than a month later we headed out to Joshua Tree a few days after it had snowed in the desert and had ourselves a glorious adventure! With snow on the mountains (and little patches still on the ground around us), all we had to do was wander a little of the road into the beauty of the desert!

I hope you enjoy this Joshua Tree wedding session and check out Matt and Cheyenne’s engagement session here and a Joshua Tree engagement session too!
