The Weather Said Rain in Yucaipa…

The week of B & K’s Oakmont spring engagement predicted rain…and LOTS of it. Personally I love the rain and am down for anything but I leave that up to the couple. B & K were all for it and we opted for an adventure and went ahead with our plans. When I pulled up to the park the dark clouds were overhead and every weather app said it was actively raining. The cloud layer gave us the prettiest even light that we took advantage of since we fully expected the impending downpour.

K has the best style and we share a love for jewel tones and textures. With the gloomy weather it gave a depth to the colors and contrast in the most beautiful way. To my absolute delight, they carried this feel of deep colors and texture into their fall wedding.

And Then The Skies Gave Us Magic…

With an outfit change and rounding the corner, the clouds parted briefly as the sun was ready to dip behind the hills. Above us turned into the prettiest cotton candy skies over the gentle fields and hills. The jewel tones popped against the soft greens and pinks and the light felt like a painted backdrop. All the weather apps said it was currently pouring rain but we had walked into a pocket of pure magic.

The sun dipped down and the clouds gathered again as we stopped at a massive oak tree (we also share a love for trees). On my way home the skies got increasingly darker and more foreboding. The sun hadn’t fully set but the nearly black clouds made it feel like night. By the time I pulled into my driveway it was POURING. Like I said, I don’t know what pocket of magic we stumbled into but I’m so happy we decided to adventure the rain.
