Virginia Country Club Spring Long Beach Wedding

In the inquiry for this Virginia Country Club Spring Wedding, K told me that her Long Beach venue highly recommended me. She was already so in love with my work and I was the most highly reviewed. During the consult I let them know that full disclosure….I’d never even heard of their venue. While it’s not the first time I’ve been on a referral list because a venue or planner likes my work, it was a mystery how I got there. We chalked it up to fate but a few short months before the wedding I got a text with an even better explanation. Another one of my brides worked for the venue as a coordinator. I had done her sister’s wedding years before and she always knew that I’d be her wedding photographer when that day came. Well not only was I her wedding photographer the next year but she had put me down on the vendor list with the highest praise. So one soulmate couple lead to another and lead to another.

Going with the Long Beach theme but taking advantage of the actual beach for their engagement session, they were my first session of the new year. There’s something about the first session of a year that feels rusty…like I’ve forgotten everything all camera settings and how to talk to other humans…but then the session turns into pure magic and sets the tone for the rest of the year. K’s joy is contagious and B absolutely adores her. B has a level headedness and a great sense of humor that balances K’s tender heart and emotional side. While opposites do attract they can also often compliment each other so perfectly. I had little doubt their wedding would be overflowing with the same joy and magic.

B and K have lots of history tied with Virginia Country Club and it was a sentimental (and beautiful) choice for their Long Beach spring wedding. When B and K worked together, the first company Christmas party she went to was at Virginia Country Club. It was the night that B told K he liked her! Ben’s parents wedding reception was also at Virginia and both of their grandparents were members at Virginia back in the day (they wonder if they ever ran into/knew one another). Since B’s family has made it a tradition to celebrate most holidays at Virginia, B and K love the idea of being able to celebrate their anniversary there every year.

I don’t know how to put into words how absolutely perfect B and K’s Virginia Country Club spring wedding was. The light. The trees. The joy. The abundance of sentimental details. The dance moves. At the end of the night they had a private last dance and the emotion of the day hit K. While she sobbed happy tears, B told jokes to make her laugh before they giddily ran through their sparkler exit.
